TESTIMONIAL

A brief introduction

Paul, 67

Why did you start personal training?

On recommendation from a friend of similar age who has had a PT most of her adult life, her level of health and fitness were very apparent. She told me “it's not cheap or easy to look this good!”. I wanted to be stronger, fitter and more active as I spend quite a lot of time driving a car, motorcycle and sitting behind a desk.

What you have achieved from personal training?

I started with Joey two years ago and I’ve now found I can swim, cycle, play tennis and train longer and better without becoming exhausted. I can also go on longer walks and do other active things around the house and garden more easily.

I rarely get back ache and I am generally happier in myself. Joey is professional and he has always been cheerful and helpful. He has also given good advice on my diet.

Initially I had concerns that by taking a few hours away from work every week my business would suffer. On the contrary business has improved dramatically 30%+ as I believe when I'm there I make better decisions, am more organised and cope with pressure better.

I feel better, I don't weigh myself but people tell me I've lost weight, I know I have a more cheerful and happier outlook on life which is all positive.

If someone was thinking of training with Joey what would you tell them?

I would recommend a trial as there is nothing to lose and so much to gain.

I only have brief experience of training with three other trainers but Joey is by far the best as I have found he takes a genuine personal interest and cares which is very important to me and encouraging.

Anyone who can afford it can join a gym and I understand many do but they don't keep it up as you need encouragement and motivation.

With a professional dedicated trainer who gets to know and understand you I have learnt how to do a very wide range of exercises correctly which I find very satisfying. I have noticed some people who don't get help do not gain so much or do things in the best way to help themselves.
